5 Reviews of the Taranto 600

It took 2 of us 50 mins to erect. This could just be down to the fact we had never used it so it took us a bit longer. I was impressed with the living area being nice and big. I couldn't understand why the ground sheet didn't go the length of the tent though. The big sleeping pod is of good size, but at the end of the tent with no ground sheet. This let a bit of wind in which made us a bit chilly. (i will be buying a separate ground sheet) Very light inside with good windows. Don't know what it is like in bad weather though as it was sunny for the whole weekend. (lucky). Overall well impressed as we only brought it for £80. Just annoying about the ground sheet.

Hmmmmm not a bad tent I suppose but was sold to me as being able to put up on my own. You can't. It withstood really bad wind though through the August storms and nobody got wet! Could have done with a sewn in ground sheet though as it got awfully drafty and I'd always recommend a footprint if you can get one.
I managed to change the tent though with the online retailers as my friends had a Gelert Horizon which, largely due to the sewn in ground sheet, was so much easier to pitch!

This is the very first tent that we have owned and found it really easy to use. The only thing that didn't help was the weather, otherwise we had a great holiday and have made plans to go more often next year.

We used this tent for the first time on the first May bank holiday weekend. It was easy to put up -took about 1/2 an hour.
An ideal tent for a small family.
There are two sleeping compartments one of which can be split into 2. We find this ideal for a family with young children as we can all sleep together with plenty of room at one end of the tent. We used the one at the opposite end of the tent as a storage/ toilet at night, for clothes etc and to change in whilst leaving the others for the beds.
The living area is large enough to stand up straight in( my partner is 6 foot 3 and can stand up comfortably) you can have all kitchen stuff set up, the doors closed and still have room to sit around a table.
There are doors with large windows on either side ( lovely looking out at the view in the rain with the heater on inside ).
We would have preferred a sewn in ground sheet, but the 2008 model even has this!
The only other thing we would have liked is a porch but I hear the tent is made by Outwell and they do porches so we may get one to see if it will fit.
